Checklist helps assess needs
THE City of Fremantle has adopted the first part of the Local Government Reform requirements by providing the Local Government Reform Steering Committee with a completed reform checklist.
The reform checklist asks a series of questions of local governments to assist in assessing if there are any gaps of capacity for local governments to consider.
The City of Fremantle has completed this part of the assessment and provided a copy (with various attachments) to the steering committee.
The final question of the document seeks local governments to consider, after assessment of any gaps, whether the current structure is sustainable or there is need to amalgamate.
The City of Fremantle at this time has stated it would prefer to undertake further review of all issues affecting the organisation and the community before providing a response to this question.
Please find attached the reform checklist provided by the City of Fremantle. It does not include the documents provided to the steering reform committee due to the size of the files.
This document has been provided to the community for review and consideration.
There are further requirements that the City of Fremantle is requested to undertake in the Local Government Minister’s timetable for reform, and these will be provided on the website as each stage is completed.
